Commercial Jazz dance is a mixture of various dance genres. Mainly jazz, street, hip hop, ballet and musical theatre. It is the style of dance that is used in concerts, live shows, music videos, films and commercials.

Our Teenies dance class is the perfect class to get your little ones moving! They will learn routines to current pop music and children’s songs. Encouraging performance and enjoyment of dance.

Our classes are grouped into age categories so the choreograph can be directly suited for each age group.

Members of our Commercial Jazz classes are then invited into the Cadmans Showdance Teams. These teams perform at various events all over the country including local Christmas light switch ons, summer fairs, corporate events and Chance2Dance events at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London and Blackpool Opera House.

All children in our classes are given the opportunity to work their way through the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) medal test system.

For all Commercial Jazz children’s classes we encourage appropriate clothing to be worn. Black dance leggings and leotards are our preferred uniform. We also have Cadmans T shirts, Zoodies and Joggers for sale. Please speak to a member of the Cadmans team if you wish to purchase any of these.

Footwear; Black jazz shoes

We have a tuck shop which is open during the short break in classes. Dancers can buy drinks, crisps, sweets and chocolate. If you would prefer to bring a snack please keep it small and no hot food is allowed in the studio.

We run 3 IDTA medal tests a year; usually March, July and November. If your child is ready for their exam they will receive an examination form in their class a month before. This will need to be returned to the studio with the exam payment before the deadline date. The exams take place on Sundays at the studio.

We encourage children to be left for the duration of the class. Parents/ carers are welcome to stay for the first class they attend. We take emergency contact details for all children so if there is any problems we can give you a ring.

All or our teachers our either fully qualified professional dance teachers or currently student teachers in training. All of our over 18 assistants and teachers are DBS checked.
